In a tradition Korean myth, the god Hwanung makes the bear Ungnyeo and the tiger Jeon-Suk compete to become human by eating garlic and mugwort. The tiger gives up and Ungnyeo becomes human. She marries Hwanung and becomes the mother of Korea.
